Changes in climate in the Netherlands lead to an increase in drought, which puts pressure on the availability of water for drinking water, nature, agriculture and industry. To prevent water shortages, robust freshwater supply is needed for all functions. Within KWR we look at the organisation of the freshwater supply, but also at specific measures for adaptation, the effects of drought in the unsaturated zone, crop/vegetation and the shallow and deep groundwater, and the propagation of drought.
