KWR at Utrecht Science Week

Utrecht Science Week opened with a keynote by Professor Juliette Legler, Chair of KWR’s External Scientific Advisory Board. Legler is a professor at Utrecht University and conducts research into the effects of chemicals on human health and the environment. In her lecture, Healthy Planet, Healthy People: Towards Solutions for a Polluted World, Legler explained how environmental chemicals, such as endocrine-disrupting substances and microplastics, affect the health of people, animals and ecosystems. She shared the latest scientific insights and showed how collaboration between science, policy and society can contribute to innovative solutions and a healthier living environment.

Water Dialogue

On Wednesday 30 September 2026, water will take centre stage during the Water Dialogue: the Future of Water. Roberta Hofman, Principal Scientist at KWR and Professor of Innovative Water Systems at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, will take part in the event. During the Water Dialogue, participants will discuss the challenges and opportunities for the future of water and the role that science and innovation can play.

Utrecht Science Week therefore also provides KWR with a valuable platform for sharing knowledge, building new connections and contributing to the wider societal dialogue about the future of water.
