Dirk Vries PhD MSc

Dirk Vries has been working as a researcher at KWR since 2009 and has joined the Energy and Circular Systems (ECS) team in 2020. This team focuses on technological solutions to accelerate the transition to a sustainable water-energy(-food) nexus. He enjoys working with experts from various disciplines to translate knowledge from energy management, water technology, resource recovery, information theory and modeling into innovative, cross-sectoral solutions. His main expertise lies in the field of dynamic systems modeling, control, data fusion and data science. Dirk has extensive experience in modeling and data fusion of water treatment systems, as well as knowledge of, and experience with data mining, data validation strategies, uncertainty propagation and control strategies.
