Erik van Lidth de Jeude

Erik van Lidth de Jeude is programme manager at Waterwijs, the joint research programme of the drinking water companies. In this role, he connects questions, knowledge, organisations and people. In this way, Waterwijs remains a solid knowledge base for the drinking water sector ‑ both now and in the future. The aim is to ensure a sufficient supply of high-quality drinking water.

With an academic background in environmental sciences and water management from Utrecht University, Erik operates at the intersection of science and application. He believes that knowledge only gains value when it is put to use. A publication that ends up in a drawer is a missed opportunity.

Erik brings extensive experience in setting up and developing knowledge-intensive programmes and platforms. For example, he helped create a platform providing information on hazardous substances for retailers. He also set up a programme that gives households a better understanding of their energy consumption. He is now using this experience to further position Waterwijs as a programme that provides direction, puts relevant themes on the agenda, stimulates collaboration and translates knowledge into concrete value for the drinking water sector.
