Tavishi is an Environmental Engineer and joined KWR in September 2020 as a Scientific Researcher in the in the Innovation and Valorisation team. At KWR, she is working on the ULTIMATE project; a Horizon2020 project focused on water smart industrial symbiosis – a form of Circular Economy looking at the reuse of wastes between industries. The project brings together 27 partners and aims to demonstrate enabling technologies at 9 large scale sites across Europe not only from a technology stand point but also assesses their environmental and economic performance, and actively engages stakeholders as well as citizens to stimulate acceptance of circular solutions. Within the project, her research focuses on the Dutch demonstration case which studies recovery and reuse of water, energy and nutrients from the horticulture industry. During which she intends to pursue a PhD in this topic as well. Originally from New Delhi, India, Tavishi obtained her Master’s degree from TU Delft with a specialization in Wastewater Treatment. She has worked on collaborative (international) projects such as the LOTUSHR project which aims to develop holistic wastewater reuse solutions and risk assessment in Indian megacities, and the Orange Knowledge Program (OKP) project which strives to disseminate education for water professionals in South Africa. Passionate about water solutions for low-income countries, wastewater treatment and resource recovery, she has experience working on dissolved air floatation (DAF), micro-bubble aeration in anaerobic digestion, sludge treatment and QMRA. She is specifically interested in data-driven resource recovery from waste streams and smart reuse technologies.
