KWR contributes to Utrecht Science Week

From 25 September to 4 October 2026, Utrecht Science Week is taking place. During this week, science, innovation and societal challenges take centre stage, bringing together researchers, knowledge institutions, businesses and societal organisations. KWR is also contributing to this year’s programme.

Utrecht Science Week opened with a keynote by Professor Juliette Legler, Chair of KWR’s External Scientific Advisory Council. Legler is a professor at Utrecht University and researches the effects of chemicals on human health and the environment. In her lecture, Healthy Planet, Healthy People: Towards Solutions for a Polluted World, Legler showed how environmental chemicals, such as endocrine-disrupting substances and microplastics, affect the health of people, animals and ecosystems. She shared the latest scientific insights and demonstrated how collaboration between science, policy and society can contribute to innovative solutions and a healthier living environment.
