Anouk Bouwhuis

Anouk Bouwhuis has been CFO of KWR Water Research Institute since January 2021 and is a member of the KWR management team. She heads the Corporate Services group, which includes Finance & Control, Facility Services, ICT Management and the Project Management Office. Together with experts from Corporate Services, she provides optimal operational and strategic support for KWR’s core activities. Over the past 28 years, Anouk has gained broad experience in finance, risk management and other aspects of business operations, both in international business and the non-profit sector. During 15 years at Shell she held various financial positions, set up and lead risk management at the Port of Rotterdam Authority and the international telecom company VimpelCom. Before she started at KWR, Anouk was finance manager at the International Red Cross Red Crescent Centre for Climate Change and Disaster Preparedness. She was also a member of the supervisory and advisory boards of various organizations. Anouk graduated in economics in 1988 and obtained an MBA in 1997. In addition, she has completed various courses in governance and supervision.
