Femke de Boer

Femke de Boer is a researcher in the Resilience, Management & Governance team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Life Sciences and obtained her master’s degree in International Development Studies from Wageningen University in 2025. During her master’s programme, Femke specialised in politics, governance and diplomacy for sustainable development. She also has a background and interest in climate adaptation and mitigation. For her graduation research, she investigated the views of operators working with decentralised water systems. At KWR, Femke conducts social science research into decentralised water use, including in a Horizon European project. In collaboration with the University of Antwerp, she is investigating the socio-political context of the implementation of circular and decentralised water management solutions.
