Erwin Roex PhD MSc

Erwin Roex’s research focuses on the relationship between emissions of pollutants resulting from human activities and the resulting consequences for the quality of our surface water. This research is important in order to be able to make a balanced assessment of the various policy measures that can be formulated to limit emissions of substances. He studies the emissions, transport and behaviour of micropollutants, such as emissions from industry, pesticides, drugs, PFAS and microplastics, using both monitoring data and model studies. He has supervised PhD students in the field of emissions, dispersion and risks of emerging substances such as nanoparticles and human and veterinary medicines.
