Henk-Jan van Alphen MSc

Henk-Jan van Alphen is a researcher on the Resilience Management and Governance team. He focuses mainly on trend research and scenario studies. Henk-Jan is interested in the interface between the water sector and other (utility) sectors, particularly from the perspective of future utilities. Part of his research focuses on new concepts such as the smart city and the circular economy and its socio-economic aspects. At a European level, he works on issues surrounding adaptation to extreme weather conditions (project BINGO in Horizon 2020). Henk-Jan received training as a political scientist and has extensive experience with foresight studies and strategy development in various sectors.
