Adjusting WML’s strategic course

The water company WML sees that it will be subject to some significant upcoming external developments and wants to know what this means for its strategic course.

Determining the impact of external developments

Developments like the transition to a circular economy, pressures on water quality and changing customer needs have consequences for WML. This project studies the impact of these external factors on the company’s path towards sustainability, robustness and collaborative action.

Defining scenarios

KWR is developing several base scenarios, interpreting them in the context of WML, and formulating a strategic response. The base scenarios will then be discussed in a workshop with a broad participation of WML staff. We will also lay out the opportunities and threats involved.

Building blocks for a strategic course

WML will use the results of this research to adjust its strategic course to anticipate external developments.
