Anne Mathilde Hummelen is senior programme manager at KWR and programme director of TKI Water Technology. As programme manager, she ensures that relevant developments in society and technology are translated into research programmes and projects. Anne is responsible for the Joint Research Programme, the collective research programme of the Dutch drinking water utilities and the Flemish De Watergroep. This programme, which has been active for decades, supplies the Dutch drinking water sector with the knowledge to continuously provide impeccable drinking water now and in the future. For TKI Water Technology, Anne is the central point of coordination, representing the window to and liaising with public authorities, knowledge organisations, the private sector and other TKIs. TKI Water Technology stimulates the development of process technological innovations for the improvement of water quality and water availability, and for a climate-positive water cycle, in collaborations involving the private sector, knowledge organisations and public authorities.
Anne is a civil engineer (Delft University of Technology), with a specialisation in groundwater and drinking water. During her career at KWR, she has focused on both strategic research and advice, as well as project and programme management. In addition, Anne was the Knowledge and Programme Management team leader for a few years, as well as a member of the KWR Works Council.
