Nienke Meekel MSc

Nienke Meekel works as a researcher in the Chemical Water Quality and Health team. Her work focuses on the identification of unknown substances in water using suspect- and non-target screening approaches. Among other activities, Nienke is involved in the data analysis and prioritization of potentially toxic substances, as well as addressing the associated challenges. Her current research activities focus on developing strategies to improve the monitoring of unknown organic micropollutants in drinking water sources. In 2020, she graduated from the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she pursued a master’s degree in Chemistry with a specialization in Analytical Sciences.
