Daniel Duarte is a scientific researcher in the Chemical Water Quality and Health team. Daniel specializes in assessing risks to human health and the environment. His primary interest and expertise lie in the field of interdisciplinary research. As a scientist, Daniel has previously conducted and coordinated research (in silico, in vitro, in vivo) on the effects and risks of contaminants such as organophosphates and metals. Recently, Daniel has been mainly involved in modelling the exposure and impact of emerging contaminants, such as pharmaceuticals and antimicrobial resistance, in water environments. In addition to his scientific experience, Daniel has also held positions in organizations focused on health and environmental policy and has assisted in risk assessment procedures from a regulatory perspective. At KWR, Daniel is involved in various projects related to integrating new approaches for testing and assessing potential adverse effects of water contaminants and the risk assessment of emerging contaminants.
