Miina Yanagihara PhD

Miina Yanagihara is a researcher in the Chemical Water Quality and Health team. Her research interests lie in the interpretation of biological responses for the assessment and management of risks of chemicals in the water environment. At KWR, using her expertise in the field of ecotoxicology, she is involved in projects to develop a method to prioritize chemicals based on various bioassay results.
She received her PhD from the University of Tokyo in Japan. In her PhD research, she developed a tool to assess toxic effects of chemicals on benthic organisms by a metabolomic approach. She joined the team as a guest researcher at KWR in April 2021 to carry out a project funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Cross-border Postdoctoral Fellowship.
