Marette Zwamborn

  • Senior scientific researcher

Marette Zwamborn is senior researcher in geohydrology and thermal energy. She focuses on the sustainable use of the subsurface for thermal energy systems and groundwater abstraction. Marette is experienced in the application of specialised geohydrological knowledge in a wide range of application fields. She is driven by the desire to delve into the substance of subjects and is skilled at expressing complex matters in an understandable fashion. Marette has accumulated extensive knowledge in the field of thermal energy, with the development of robust and reliable thermal energy systems that truly produce energy savings and are effectively integrated into the underground space. Marette supervises the entire field of work and provides advice along all of the chain, from manager to work-floor. When it comes to groundwater abstraction, she has wide experience in the provision of (industrial) water and the impact of abstraction on the regional water system. She favours an integrated approach, which effectively balances the optimal use of the available groundwater, the possible implementation of water savings, closing loops or alternative water sources, and limiting negative environmental impacts. Marette works actively, together with the branch association, BodemenergieNL, and the Foundation for Infrastructure for Quality Assurance of Soil Management (SIKB), on quality improvement, training and knowledge transfer in the field of sources and thermal energy.
