Erwin Beerendonk is a Team Leader on the Drinking Water Treatment team and a Project Manager on various types of projects. As senior researcher, his focus is on challenges faced by drinking water companies to guarantee impeccable water quality, now and in the future. Such as by developing new concepts for integral water purification, optimising membrane filtration processes and UV processes and coming up with and developing solutions for the (new) pollutions in drinking water wells. Such as: (1) researching the possibilities for reverse osmosis without pre-treatment and post-treatment to make drinking water. (2) Identifying the possibilities for “zero liquid discharge” concepts. And (3) researching possibilities to remove heavy metals (such as chrome and arsenic) and nano particles (such as fullerenes, silver and gold). As a good organiser and planner, he and his colleagues and collaborative partners work in projects striving for the best possible results within the required time and budget, both in national and international research and advice projects.
