Safe drinking water toolbox developed

Launch during 2016 SIWW

With the introduction of the new WHO Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality and the Water Safety Plans, a need has arisen worldwide in the drinking water sector for methods to assess the microbial safety of drinking water systems. KWR (Gertjan Medema) and Water & Health plc Australia (Susan Petterson) have developed a toolbox for this purpose.

Toolbox based on QMRA

The toolbox supports drinking water companies, policy-makers and inspectors in carrying out assessments of drinking water safety. It works on the basis of Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (QMRA) and constitutes a step from science to drinking water practice, so that the safety assessment is as evidence-based as possible. The toolbox will be launched during the 2016 Singapore International Water Week (SIWW).
