Mark is a Software Developer with over 20 years’ professional experience. He has worked for, and with, numerous companies and public-sector organizations on large-scale Information Technology projects across many business sectors including the water, gas and electricity utilities and the oil and gas industry.
His key areas of expertise include engineering optimization, object-oriented analysis and design, software development in C++/C#, parallel computing, human computer interaction and user interface design. His recent commercial experience includes the development of software for water resources optimization and its application to large projects in the UK, energy management optimization and drinking water network burst detection and event management.
At KWR, he leads the design, specification, implementation and validation of hydroinformatic software applications as well as providing support for research software development within KWR as a whole. As ICT Team Leader he is further responsible for coordinating ICT activity within KWR, signalling relevant developments, trends and issues in the ICT field as well as developing ICT strategy and policy at the business level, in collaboration with the Chief Information Officer.
Mark is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Exeter Centre for Water Systems where he continues to collaborate closely on research and consultancy projects.
