Aleida Hommes MSc

Aleida is a researcher, project manager and ‘Microbiological Water Quality and Health’ portfolio manager. Her primary expertise as a researcher lies in detecting, monitoring and identifying microorganisms in the aquatic environment by applying molecular techniques. Her research activities are particularly focused on the occurrence, transport and removal/inactivation of waterborne pathogens and/or (innovative) indicators of these pathogens. This includes, for example, monitoring treatment processes and their effectiveness in removing bacteria and viruses. Or, for example, the development, validation and application of new (mobile) detection techniques to measure and monitor these micro-organisms.
KWR has a broad portfolio in the field of microbiological water quality and health. As portfolio manager, Aleida works on increasing the visibility, recognition and further development of this portfolio, both within KWR and for its partners and clients.
In her role as project manager, Aleida initiates and coordinates various national and international research and consultancy projects. Together with colleagues from different teams and collaboration partners, she strives to set up and execute projects that achieve the best possible results within time and budget.
