Also, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW221695810 BCX8\">new ideas<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW221695810 BCX8\"> to work on in the remaining just under four years of PARC were presented and generated. It was nice to see how much the consortium already has achieved and how enthusiastic the researchers were to <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW221695810 BCX8\">initiate<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW221695810 BCX8\"> new projects within PARC.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW38613291 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW38613291 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW38535100 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW38535100 BCX8\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">From May 19-21, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">Astrid Reus <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW118945003 BCX8\">joint<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">Work Package (<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">W<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">P<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">) <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">6 meeting of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwrwater.nl\/en\/projecten\/parc-european-partnership-for-the-assessment-of-risks-from-chemicals\/\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentStart CommentHighlightPipeRest CommentHighlightRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">Partnership for <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentHighlightRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentHighlightRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">Assessment of <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentHighlightRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">Risks from <\/span><\/a><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentHighlightRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">Chemicals (PARC). <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentHighlightPipeRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">In WP6, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">KWR <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">collaborates<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> with<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> other European<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> research organizations and universit<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">ies to improve human and environmental health risk <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW118945003 BCX8\">assessment<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">. The developments of this WP are relevant for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwrwater.nl\/en\/projecten\/toxicological-risk-assessment\/\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentStart CommentHighlightPipeRest CommentHighlightRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">toxicological risk assessments <\/span><\/a><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentHighlightPipeRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">KWR conducts for the (drinking) water sector. Important topics of the meeting were One Health (<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">i.e. integral approach of health, taking into account humans, animals and the environment)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">, One Substance One Assessment<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> (i.e. integral approach for the authorization of substances)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">, New Approach Method<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">ologies <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">(<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">i.e. non-animal tests, such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwrwater.nl\/en\/projecten\/effect-based-water-quality-measurements-with-bioassays\/\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentStart CommentHighlightPipeRest CommentHighlightRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">bioassays<\/span><\/a><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentHighlightPipeRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwrwater.nl\/en\/projecten\/qsar-and-read-across-models-for-water-quality\/\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentStart CommentHighlightPipeRest CommentHighlightRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">in silico tools<\/span><\/a><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentHighlightPipeRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">), <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentStart CommentHighlightPipeRest CommentHighlightRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\">mixture toxicity<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentHighlightPipeRest SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> and aggregated exposure<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> (i.e. exposure to a chemical taking into account multiple routes and sources)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">Timely interaction with policy makers from authorities is essential to successfully implement the developed improvements for risk assessment of chemicals. PARC provides this by involving the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> and<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> European Environmental Agency (EEA) from the beginning. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">In addition to discussions with authorities on ongoing projects within PARC, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\">new ideas<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW118945003 BCX8\"> to work on in the remaining just under four years of PARC were presented and generated.
