In order to reduce the environmental impact of the petrochemicals industry, an innovative waste-water purification and reuse scheme will be developed and implemented in a demonstration project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The purification scheme is made up of different biological and physical\/chemical purification steps. The Spanish research institute Fundaci\u00f3 CTM Centre Tecnol\u00f2gic de Manresa (CTM) is coordinating this research. Other partners are DOW, Veolia, WssTP and KWR. The Industry, Waste Water and Reuse team at KWR will develop a decision-support model that will make it possible to determine whether the water-purification scheme is economically feasible for specific petro-chemical sites and what the impact on sustainability is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KWR is participating in the four-year European Life+ REWATCH project that is now being launched.
