In 2015, the collaboration was strengthened by the appointment of KWR researcher Pieter Stuyfzand as part-time Professor of (Chemical) Hydrogeology at TU Delft. The two partners also organised a colloquium on \u2018Excellent hydrology through collaboration\u2019 on Thursday, 17 December.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Further develop and apply knowledge<\/h2>\n<p>The collaboration between the two organisations strengthens the development of knowledge and its application in the Dutch water sector, and the international position of Dutch hydrology. Pivotal to the collaboration are the joint projects in the field of water and health, wastewater and drinking water purification, chemical technology, water and energy, and science system assessment.<\/p>\n<h2>Focus on substances in subsurface systems<\/h2>\n<p>The collaboration\u2019s focus will be on experimental and modelling research into the presence, properties and behaviour of dissolved or suspended substances in natural and semi-natural subsurface water systems. These systems chiefly consist of, respectively, aquifers and of artificial ground passage systems, such as those in dune infiltration, Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR), river-bank filtration, aquifer thermal energy storage (ATES) and high-temperature aquifer thermal energy storage (HT-ATES).<\/p>\n<h2>Collaboration agreement signing<\/h2>\n<p>During the colloquium, KWR and TU Delft discussed the current collaboration and shared ideas about future collaboration.
