Assistant Programme Manager

As assistant programme manager, you are the organisational talent behind our research programmes, and you work intensively and closely with programme managers and researchers. Do you want to contribute to the organisation, design, and application of research in the field of water and the circular economy? Are you happy to plan, connect, adjust and arrange matters down to the last detail? Then we would like to meet you!

As assistant programme manager, you support our programme managers in the provision of information about our research programmes to colleagues and clients (via SharePoint for instance), and in the preparation, organisation and follow-up of events and meetings. You help in maintaining an overview of the progress and the outcomes. Through your work, the drinking water utilities for example can get to work on projects that are conducted within our research programmes. You participate in the thinking about the organisation and development of programme management within KWR.

These are a number of the tasks associated to your position:

  • proactive collection, updating and presentation of programme information;
  • gathering and critically assessing progress information about research projects and programme components, and arranging for periodic reports;
  • organising and preparing working meetings with colleagues and outside parties, monitoring milestones, deadlines and commitments;
  • ensuring the smooth transfer of knowledge to colleagues, drinking water utilities, collaboration partners and other outside parties, by maintaining the SharePoint website updated, and structuring and organising meetings and events (conferences, workshops, webinars, etc.), from planning to evaluation;
  • developing and maintaining relationships within and outside of KWR and the drinking water sector; being a point-of-contact and information source;
  • writing short news items with the results of our research programme, in consultation with colleagues of the communications team.

Your profile

With your practical and results-oriented personality, as well as a touch of creativity, you contribute to the design of our programme management. You are glad to collaborate intensively with your colleagues and to redouble your effort at peak times. You have an eye for substantive and organisational improvements within the programme management, and come forward with proposals for better management, communication and knowledge transfer. In addition, you have:

  • a higher vocational training (HBO) diploma, with at least 1 year’s work experience in an implementing or coordinating role;
  • knowledge of and experience in programme management, and process- and/or policy-related knowledge and experience;
  • experience in the organisation of activities/events. You work in a proactive and structured manner, and you maintain an overview. You have an eye for detail;
  • a positive and clear manner of communication. You find it easy to make contact. You are the ‘calling card’ for our programme managers;
  • knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products. You can also quickly learn the ropes of other applications. Experience in making and/or managing (SharePoint) websites is a plus;
  • an excellent mastery of Dutch and a good mastery of English (oral and written).

You don’t know much about the water sector? No problem. We are ready to guide you.

Our offer to you

We attach great importance to personal growth and career development, and to this end provide multiple opportunities, such as a good on-boarding and various courses and skills training. A good work-life balance is paramount for us. In addition, partial home-working is a possibility with us.

Moreover, you can conduct your work activities in a sustainable, appealing building, designed for collaboration and knowledge sharing between colleagues, teams and business contacts. With this position and our profile, KWR offers you a very special work environment.
