Youssef Boudguiyer works as a researcher in analytical chemistry on the Chemical Water Quality and Health team. He graduated in 2022 from the University of Amsterdam and VU Amsterdam with an MSc, having followed an Analytical Sciences track. He did his Master’s internship at the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED) and the Van ‘t Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences (HIMS), where he researched the optimisation of feature detection algorithms, which are used in non-target analyses (NTAs) to enable the detection of PFASs in drinking water. He also acquired the necessary experience in the area of water quality, non-target analyses, PFASs and with the R programming language. Based on this knowledge, Youssef will work on various projects at KWR, with a primary focus on the NTAs of, among others, possible substances of very high concern (SVHC) in water matrixes in the Dutch water cycle.
