Dorien Kool is programme manager DPWE, the joint research programme of the Dutch dune water companies Dunea, PWN, Waternet and Evides. She contributes to a diverse set of activities within the team innovation an valorization. Knowledge transfer and connecting people and knowledge networks are key aspects of Dorien’s activities. Within the BTO programme (joint water sector research), Dorien promotes co-makership between researchers and partners at the water companies to jointly develop and implement knowledge and innovations. Stimulating and shaping the infrastructure for knowledge transfer in new and existing collaborations inspires her. As programme manager Dorien is committed to achieve optimal connections between science and practice, to enable sustainable future-proof drinking water supply. Dorien holds a PhD in soil science, her expertise lies on the interface of soil science, microbiology end biochemistry. In her further career she has worked as programme coordinator involved in research coordination and research policy.
