Alexander van Dorssen is a water governance researcher in the Resilience Management & Governance team. He carries out research into citizen participation, societal trends and resilient (urban) water management. Alexander graduated at the end of 2017 from Wageningen University in International Land and Water Management. His Master’s thesis dealt with domestic wastewater treatment on the banks of the Citarum River in Bandung, Indonesia. This involved incorporating the perceptions of citizens with a view to designing a resilient wastewater treatment process. Alexander did his internship at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Singapore, where he provided advice on potential partnerships to Dutch companies and water utilities, and to knowledge organisations in Singapore, in areas related to water technology.
