Water systems

The Water Systems knowledge group conducts research and provides advice on the sustainable maintenance of ground and surface water and the (natural) environment.

The group is made up of experts in hydrology, chemistry, ecology and integrated water management. Together, they undertake applied and innovative research in the area of water and nature. Examples of their research areas include the effects of climate change, the feasibility of environmental objectives – for instance concerning varieties and composition of flora and fauna– and the optimisation of drinking-water recovery techniques.

BTO:
Within the cooperative framework of the Joint Research Programme of the Dutch Water Sector (BTO), the Water Systems knowledge group is responsible for the Source Risk Management programme.
